The short version: your data stays on your phone, card photos are used only to identify cards, and Bartr never sells data or shows ads.
Your data stays on your device
Bartr has no accounts and no sign-up. Your collection, trades, want list, and settings are stored only on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them. One exception, and only when you choose it: sharing a trade link saves that trade summary (card names and values — nothing about you) on Bartr's server so the link opens in a browser. Backups you export from Profile go wherever you choose to share them, and nowhere else.
Card photos
When you scan a card, the photo is sent to Bartr's server and to card-identification services so the card can be recognized. Bartr does not keep your photos and does not use them to build a profile of you or for advertising; the identification services process the photo to return a match under their own privacy policies. Please photograph cards, not people.
Price lookups
To show a price, Bartr sends the card's name, set, and number to third-party pricing catalogs. If you check a graded slab's certification, that cert number is sent to the grading company's lookup service. These lookups do not include your personal information.
Diagnostics
If the app crashes or hits an error, an anonymous diagnostic report (your device operating system, app version, and what went wrong) may be sent so bugs can be fixed. It never includes your card photos or anything you typed. A random device identifier is used to keep the scanning service fair — it is not linked to your name or contact details.
Report a Problem
The "Report a Problem" button in Profile builds a message from your recent in-app activity log and build info. Nothing is sent until you review it and choose where to share it.
What Bartr never does
No ads. No selling of data. No tracking you across other apps or websites. Bartr never asks for your name, email, contacts, or location.
Kids
Bartr is made to be safe for younger collectors. Because there are no accounts, the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Questions or data-deletion requests
Email ericmacxyz@gmail.com. Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app removes your data; shared trade links can be removed on request.
